End Of An Error

David Moyes never had  a chance from the begining, not so much that the players did not take to him, but that he did not understand the United ethos and culture. The fact that he had asked the midfielders not to get ahead of the ball going forward stopped United's cavalier style of play. Tactically he and his coaching staff got it wrong from the word go, add to the press conference that he held each time it was always hopefully and a referee's decision gone wrong for United, it was a sack sooner or later.

Now Ryan Giggs is at the helm and he has already brought back United's swashbuckling style with a win against Norwich City, but anybody who thinks that Giggs is the real deal must think again. With three games and mediocre opposition at that and the players feeling like they are out of a tactical straight jacket, this is just an adrenalin rush which will last probably for the duration of this season.

Moyes already had the players against him and things started to go off the boil when some players started to shout at him during the first leg Champions League second round game against Olympiakos, that is not going to happen with Giggs the legend, he has the respect of the players and even his former manager who brought him in 1986, Sir Alex Ferguson.

Even Giggs has however admitted that these past few days he did not have a good sleep just thinking about the line-up for the Norwich game. He is still too close to the players and some of them are his friends, it is tough task and when the hiccups of daily management comes into the fold that is when Giggs will be really tested and for that to happen it has to be a daily grind of a season or two to know if Giggs can take it.

It would be ideal for Giggs to start of with a coaching role whoever the next manager is, after all sacking the legend Giggs if things do not work out if he gets a permanent role as a manager will be a major PR disaster and will only complicate matters.
