Wembley Date For United

Manchester United beat Schalke 4-1 in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final giving them a 6-1 aggregate win. Goals from Antonia Valencia, Darren Gibson and two strikes from Anderson put Schalke to the sword despite Jurado's lone reply.

Sir Alex Ferguson stayed true to his word and made changes – eight, in fact, from the side that slipped up at Arsenal. Only Edwin van der Sar, Anderson and Nani were asked to start again as he  picked a side with Sunday against Chelsea in mind. Wayne Rooney, reported to have a tight hamstring on Tuesday, was out of the eighteen altogether but his now-regular strike partner Javier Hernandez was named among a strong group of substitutes.

United will now face Barcelona in a repeat of the 2009 Champions League final at Wembley. It will of course bring back memories of United's 1968 win against Barcelona's Iberian neighbors Benfica who had a certain Eusebio at that time. This time it will be Messi and company, this final will be different of course compared to the 2009, United will not be so "easy" this time.
