Part 1 : The Game And Team That Changed My Life

When I was 11 years old I watched this strange team from Brazil take on Liverpool in the World Club Cup in Tokyo 1981 it was surreal with that horn blaring throughout that match and with Flamengo's red and black colours (Kitted after the South American Arrow poison frog, but in this match they were wearing the away colours) when i saw how they made Liverpool look like school boys it made my mouth open wide...this was another football from another planet...like that South American frog it was exotic and rare, after seeing how Zico play with just simple passes that broke the Liverpool defence to pieces, I decided that the position I wanted to play was the midfield play-maker's position.

Though I never played football professionally, I played in this position in all my club matches for various non-league and state clubs. But my lesson in football would accelerate just a year later from this country itself Brazil....watch this great video.
