Well the European championship will kick-off today with co-hosts Switzerland taking on Czech Republic and Portugal taking on turkey, i feel it will be explosive games and i am willing to stick ,y neck out and say that Switzerland will win the Czechs 2-1 and Portugal will beat Turkey 2-0 despite the steely turkish defence. i think the Portuguese will come out tops in this group together with Switzerland.
Most people involved in the euros are saying that "If Greece can do it the last time so can we", so Greece is the model, but this year it will have a new format with the winners and runner-up of group A and B playing each other until the semi-final and the group C and d playing each other till the semi-final. So it is guranteed that the final will have a team from group A or B versus C or D.
In Group B i expect Germany and Croatia to go through, though I think Poland is a good team, they are still not ripe yet and Austria still has a long way to go before they get to the glory days of yesteryear in the pre-world war two days.
Group C..wow!! The Group of death i expect Italy to be out!! Yes you read it right, somehow I don't think Roberto Donadoni can take them far in this tournament, i feel the Dutch have more attacking flair and this will see them through to the next round.
France will be the next team to qualify, romania will make a difference, but not enough to qualify.
In Group D I expect Spain to live up finally to their promises,Torres and Fabregas to make a big impact in the tournament and Sweden to go along with them. Russia who had to rely on Croatia to beat England to qualify for the Euro, will not make it in due to lack of imagination in the team, Greece sory to say will not repeat the same outlandish feat as in 2004, but a feat it was!
