Yes its been a long time...and we are still at it again, about England, whether Mclaren should be in or out, after losing to Spain. Well the media and everyone else fail to understand that the problem is not with the Manager, it is with the system. England should be looking into development, moulding development coaches, a manager or a coach is not a a magician, look at France, they understand this.
After the 1986 World Cup, France lost again to Germany in the semi-final, the second in the row after the 82 World Cup Semi-Final. The French sat down and drew up a development plan that saw them creating youth coaches that went on to mould players like (Need I say it) Zidane, Henry, Trezuguet, Blanc, lizarazu, Pires, etc
England should look into this direction, if they win the Euro title next year it will be like winning the lottery, but it will be a false dawn, just like the 66 World Cup, when the gravy train dried up because it was a case of nature than nurture.
