Is it my imagination or are referees making more errors in the game? It seems that every few weeks, especially in the English League referees make lots of mistakes. In the Champions League (ok I admit I am a Man Utd fan) a penalty was given against Celtic when Ryan Giggs went down it looked soft but there was contact but was it enough for a player to go down? But rules are rules : Contact, go down and foul!!! It happened again when Arsenal played against Hamburg, this time Van Persie went down and it certainly looked like it was soft...contact but very soft, but penalty.
Should the game have two referees instead of one, the game has gone faster it is not getting easier, but having said that I watch the Spanish League and they make good decisions and rarely controversial ones, but is this because the game is slower (does not mean it is less inferior because I still think the Spanish league is the best). The Italian League well we don't have to worry about that, the refs are well prepared before the game they get good instructions from the club chaimen!!!
Oh and mean while maybe I gave too much credit to Madrid, I know they will still struggle in their season but I never expected them to lose and not score a single goal against Lyon..well another day.
