Here we go again

It is a long time since I have been here, you have to forgive me I had to recover from the Champions League final nightmare, but all that is over now. Slowly I rehabilitated with the help of the Confederations Cup, Brazil was a breath of fresh air. Adriano's fine form and finish, not to mention that fantasic goal in the final against Argentina winning 4-1, when about 10-12 passes were stringed together.

Brazilians are superior, they can now claim themselves to be the superteam after winning the treble; World Cup, Copa America and Confederations Cup. Now wonder they were not invited for the CONCACAF Gold Cup as they always have been, US who defeated Panama in the final will be glad. It was interesting to watch some teams like Mexico who played some very good football, the only team to beat Brazil in the Confederations Cup. Borghetti and Zinho were in excellent form, Zinho not surprsingly is a Brazilian "transplant".

The transfer market started to move after the Confederations Cup. All eyes on England now after Liverpool's success in the Champions League, which showed that you don't need to have primadonnas to win things. Patrick Viera being the high profile target of Juventus, the shock move not only shook Arsenal, but it did cause some tremors in England. Now Arsenal target Julio Baptista from Sevilla of Spain. Arsenal still need a "head" to replace Viera. Wenger mentioned that Flamini and Fabregas are more than capable of doing the job and his message to the fans was "trust me". Arsenal have doubled their bid to 17.5 million pounds, trust me? Doubling a bid for a player in just a month? Even then Arsenal have to convince Baptista to leave Spain.

Wenger also said that Flamini and Fabregas can fill up the role, whether they will be on the pitch together or not it says a lot of Viera, that you need two players to replace him..mmmh... maybe that is the reason for the Baptista bid and if the bid fails...watch this space.

Manchester United have now settled down after the Malcolm Glazer takeover or have they? With Park Ji Sung and Edwin Van De Sar signed, Ferguson still needs someone in midfield. Roy Keane's gap can be filled up by the battling Alan smith, he always looked more like a midfielder than a centreforward, but they also need a creative spark in midfield someone like Michael Ballack. United are already halfway through their tour, but I think Ferguson still has something up his sleeves, Chelsea? Need I say more....until next time ciao.
